Sunroof Question

Recommended Posts

dee205

A 1989 1.6 GTi. What sunroof came on it from factory? Was it the slide on or the pop up. I've seen a wee GTi with a pop up but though it was supposed to be a sliding one if factory. Where and what did the pop ups come on.

Thanks

Damien

From the factory, it was the full sized vacuum sunroof

The pop-up and non-vacuum sliding sunroofs were dealer-fit / aftermarket options.

Thanks Anthony. The last derv I had, had a pop up which was fine. I'm just a bit put off buying a GTi with an aftermarket fit sunroof.. Maybe I'm just too fussy or something.

Most pop up ones were done by the dealer as an optional extra, i stilll have the receipt from 1989 for mine. Not a reason to discount a car over a full length vacuum sunroof imo. I'd go on the induvidual cars condition, they vary so much.

My last 205 had a sliding one, but I actually prefer my current one which is pop-up :)

I've had both and currently have a sliding one; I much prefered the pop-up which didn't leak and could be kept open at higher speeds without making me look like I'd been dragged through a hedge! The dealer fitted pop-up has a Peugeot insignia on it so you can tell the difference between one of these and an aftermarket one.
