Running Issue

What's your thoughts on this?

I have had my car running sweet, I thought I had it dare I say perfect. I have been faffing about re-fitting a standard air filter system and binned the KnN set up. Put the PS bottle back where it should be and attended to a few little cosmetic issues under the bonnet.

Go to start it last night and it runs like s*it. Fires up fine ticks over for a couple of seconds, then goes all lumpy and missy and won't run without a fair bit of throttle.

So today I got me a new Coolant Temp Sensor as this is normally the route of all evil. Swapped it and it's no better! (the plug is crap but deffo connecting as it won't run at all without the plug on)

What would you try next?? (I have very little time to piss about with it at the moment so would like to narrow it down ASAP!)

Yes sounds like three pots are running. Could you elaborate on what to check?

if its 3 pots, get the basics checked first

take the plugs out and make sure they arent coked up in soot

how old are the leads? hard to check these without a spare

rotor arm and dizzy cap new?

ignition amp

coil

its likely to be something simple, find out which pot isnt running first of all, but it sounds liek its an arcing lead.

Just call me captain numpty brain!

So went out, fearing the worst (as ever)

Shone lamp down plug holes. And low and behold plug 3 was drowned past the HT in water. I forgot I had spilled a load on the top when I washed off all the leaked PS fluid!

Why do I never look at the obvious?!?!

All I needed was to be told what I know already!!

Thanks DCC
