My First 205 Gti

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

I am new to the 205 scene, have had several 306s, mainly GTi6s.

I have a few GTi6's I am breaking, and figured I may aswell put one of the engine to good use ;)

I have always had a soft spot for 205s. Especially white ones as they are what I always remembered when I thought 205 GTi. An iconic colour of the marque IMO

The car is a 1989, with some rust, mainly in the inner wings. Slight surface on boot floor which I will treat and sort out.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Collect next week so will pop some pictures up and no doubt be searching around here for invaluable advice and info.

The GTi6 conversion will happen when I happy the car is as good in the body as I can get it. The colour is still nice, and paintwork bright and original in most places. One sill has had a plate, but I will make that look nicer.

This car is about the details. I will be using new bolts etc under the engine bay and not cut corners like others I have seen in my hunt.

Wish me luck, and I hope this venture is going to be an enjoyable one!

I'm hoping there will be little trouble :)

Can't wait to pick it up this week. Have the week off work so will try and make as much progress as I can with it.

Looks a nice straight car and a good base for a restoration.
