Bx Rev Counter

Recommended Posts

Hello All

Just trying to get my BX16v clocks working so I can finally reassemble my dash. I have read on various posts that I need to swap a couple of wires over on the rev counter connector but I'm unsure which ones, anyone have any idea?

Also my oil pressure gauge doesn't seem to be working. Is there anything I need to swap about to get this working too?

CHeers :)

Any ideas?

Should have said it's for my 2.0 turbo engine.

BX16v clocks won't work with the turbo ecu rev counter signal afaik, its the same internally as the 205 one.

As for the oil pressure guage, the back of the clocks could have the oil level sensor gubbins on (an extra square behind the guages), if it has, remove this & all should work fine again.

Graham.

Cheers Graham. I've read on various posts in the past about people using BX16v clocks on conversions, but under closer inspection its the same as the 205 one

I've had a go at modding the standard 205 one using the "wire" method. This hasn't worked for me.

I have now dug out another rev counter but I'm mot sure what model it was originally from. When its connected up its only reading half of the revs, eg. it reads about 400 at tickover and so on and so forth.

Heres a picture of it compared to a standard (wire modded) GTI one-

Anyone seen one of these before or know what needs doing to make it read the correct revs?

Cheers, Dave.
