If I wasn't doing lots of work on my new house I'd probably buy it.

But, now that I have a decent garage I think I'll finish up my Miami first!

Oh, but I'm tempted......... Order stuff from Screwfix or buy another car. It's a tough call.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks about ready for the scrap yard?

Somebody could "Project Jalopy" it with a LOT of hard work, but tbh it looks very very tired. Bear in mind those pictures are taken when the car is still wet from being washed, which makes the paint and the trim look all nice and shiny. If you look past that it looks pretty horrid!

To be fair it's not that terrible judging by the pictures, and it's certainly salvageable with a bit of work. There's worse on eBay every week, priced much higher.

The problem is that there's nothing really there that appeals and says "buy me, save me!" - It's a Phase 1 boggo 1.6, faded paint, rusty, broken dashboard (good luck finding a replacement!), poor-mediocre condition from the look of it, CAT C write-off marker against it, and Christ knows what damage from by stolen before you even get to sorting out 24 years of neglect and bodges. The only thing in its favour is that it's reasonable cheap, but even then it's far from a bargain IMO.

Somebody could "Project Jalopy" it

That made me smile :D

yeah they are the wrong seats, they are from a phase 1.5 1.6. the same as what i have had to put into the gutmann, could not find a decent set of phase 1 seats anywhere.

Got my name all over it, specially with my huge stock of phase 1 dash parts :)

Needs a Ph1 boot and matching spoiler. too . Most of the difficult to source genuine Ph1 bits seem to be either missing or badly damaged.

Being a CAT C is what makes it pointless to me.

You can probably get a 205 in the same condition for the same price that isn't a CAT C. That thing has money pit written all over it. I think someone may have bought it judging by the ad. The paint could be awful too as someone pointed out, a wet red car gives you no indication as to what it looks like.

Shame, i have a phase 1 and I don't like seeing them scrapped but sometimes they've gotta go to car heaven.

Fail to see the attraction. By the time you have put it through an MOT and sorted any niggles, and paid for a VIC check after sorting the wiring you have an orangey red 205.

Suprised it gets so much attention. £150 maybe.

I bought this car, picked it up today, it is a bit of a shunter, surprisingly solid and everything works

bought it because it was fairly local and I needed an engine for my rally car and a few bits for my other car

might put it back on the road, it will only cost me for the VIC :)
