Strange Question But How Long Should My Dipstick Be?

Hey my dipstick on my h reg 1.6 gti has no nob on the end and i therefore dont know how far it needs to be pushed down into the engine to read the oil. Can somebody meassure/tell me the length from the bottom of the nob to the lowest oil level so i can glue on a make do nob. Thanks

Hey guys how long should a 1.6 gti dipstick be (no sniggering at the back) as iv been sent one by paul_13 {thank you very much } and it seems to be about 10cm shorter than the one I have in the car. The new on is 50cm to the bottom of the nob, and the old one is 65cm (the top 5cm looks to be where the nob was). Any ideas I'm getting a serious case of dipstick confusion haha!

Anyone, I am getting worried about driving it now as i dont know weather the car is very very low on oil or not.??
