Information On Unknown Rear Bilstein Shocks

These shocks came with a 309 rallycar rear beam that I bought several years ago.

As I'm in the process of overhauling this beam and use it on my 205 track car I wonder if these dampers are anything to concider using instead of the ones I already have.

I have the Bilstein 205 tarmac dampers from peugeot sport already, but I'm most curious if these old ones are anything to hang on to.

 

There are imprints on them:

Not too much to get from this, but the last numbers might relate to some damping properties?

 

The rear arms actually have 405 stub axles and wheel bearings, possibly altered wheel angles but will not know until next time on the tracking machine.

700/350 does indeed sound like the damping rate, but that's very high - with thanks to Craigb, here's the damping rates of the original PTS rear dampers:

 

Original spec for PTS dampers were as below

 

205 Forest 360/250

205 tarmac 460/250

306 Forest 500/275

306 tarmac 600/300

Yeah, they've been valved for some fairly strong bars + tarmac use.

Might be 309 Tarmac items? I think they used some hefty torsion bars.

Fairly sure my bilstein rear came off a tarmac spec 309 rally car. They've got the usual 1038 code but not sure on the damping rates, where are they printed?

The beam only had 24mm bars and a 21mm ARB, so I guess the ones I'm using now will be the best ones to use then.

Seem too stiff these, at least now when I'm using it on a 205 and not 309 which after all does have some more weight over the rear.

 

oli-pug: The numbers are engraved into the metal on the ones I have.

Btw: Is the numbers related to N/(m/s) units or is it something more cryptic?

also 205 tarmac units are the same as 309 gravel from what I remember
