Testing Oil Pressure Gauge

Recommended Posts

wah

Hi,

Is there a way of testing the oil pressure gauge, I have already earthed it out via the wire at the sensor end but nothing moved, is there a way of earthing it out from the rear of the binnacle to see if it it working ?. I also tested the wire at the sensor end with a multi meter and it's only showing 0.34 as where my other GTI shows around 7.34 so looks like wire issues but I cant see where the damn thing goes as it runs under the inlet manifold etc.

Si

it is a pain in the arse, with mine i used all new wires and crimp connectors to the sensors, alternator and starter then cut the plug out and soldered the wires in to the loom.

Happy days had a rumage around and discovered that the wire that runs into the multiplug tu supply the sensor wire was missed, then to find it hidden away under the water pipe that runs from the thermostat quick cut/solder and heat shrink sorted it !!!!!!!
