Gear Selection Thingy

Recommended Posts

got into to my car last night after work and the gear stick was floppy - was fine on the way in lol

popped the bonnet and the large nut holding the L shaped bracket to the subframe was just sat on top of the subframe  so I screwd it back in again and have gears, then found the collared washer/collet thing underneath the car (the thing you can have made out of bronze)

only ive now lost that in the car somewhere  where does this go, do I need it, and if so where can I get another one please?? :D

this was all after I'd zip tied the bumper back on after that had fallen off randomly in the car park during the day as well lol - its like a big jigsaw! :P

The only help i can provide is a diagram of the gear linkage since i'm not 100% sure which bit you mean. Anyway....

EDIT - Number 18 perhaps?

ahh thankyou :) number 18 is the collet thing I've lost, 17 is the bolt that undid itself - not sure where H and J went!

Its way off topic, but anyone know if you can use the 205 bronze bushes on a 306?

The 306 bushes are a different part number to the 205 ones on servicebox, but that doesnt necessarily mean they are incompatible.

306 ones are a different size, could probably machine them to fit, they are a similar material to what stew and miles supply by the way..
