Hey guys my 93 205 gtx is the iron block tu lump running single point injection now it is ecu controlled (obviously). poor old girl has done 150k now and really needs an engine rebuild. but do I rebuild and have a bit of head work while its stripped or i was wondering whether i can fit the injection system onto a carbed version with an alloy block.

 

Oh and can i hhave he ecu played with at all?

I'm pretty sure you can fit the injection cylinder head onto an ally block, so you could just find an ally block and use it with all your injection bits.

 

Edit: Just re-read your first post, I think with the single point it is also possible to fit the injection manifold onto a carb head, but I'm not well versed on the replacement of the distributor to a coil pack type, plus you'll still need the injection flywheel if it uses the trigger teeth on it for timing etc etc.

 

Might be better just to do a rebuild and swap the iron block for an ally one and keep everything else per your original setup?

cheers fella, gonna have rebuild it soon the thing smokes like mad on full throttle
