Wiring Woes.

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I've been pretty busy working on the 205 to get it sorted. Someone had cleverly put the wrong wiring looms on both the engine and the front lights...

So I got some looms off baz and Anthony - thanks!

Just got a few questions..

Should the wires for this plug line up..?

I think it's the lights or something. I had to re connect it, but I didn't take any spades out the terminal.

The horn, does it only have one wire to it? And also the fan and rad thermostat, are they on the engine wiring loom..?

Thanks in advance! :)

On the 88 phase 1.5 model I just stripped there's one wire to the horn then one coming off to the earth block. The rad and fan were on a separate loom off the shunt box. No idea on the White plug with out looking at mine though.

Got a picture of the horn? I don't even know if I have the right horn on the car. It's deffo not a GTi one. It's such a pain what some people do.

Once I've sussed all this lot I'll start fitting my immobiliser.

Here's pics of what my car looks like ATM!

I left the horn on the shell Pete now has I could get a pic of the wire going to it if that helps?

Have fun putting it all back together should keep you busy for a while.

As said, horn has just a single wire going to it, and earth is via the body.

Radiator fan loom is completely separate on Phase 1.5 and 2 models. It's only Phase 1's where it's part of the main engine bay loom.

I wouldn't expect the colours to match up on the plug, but I would expect the number and location of wires/pins to match up between the two, and atleast some of the wire numbers too.

Do you have a loom for the rad and fan spare Anthony? :) just realised too, should the + battery terminal connect to the starter and alternator? I may need one of those too..

If Anthony does not have a battery to starter/alternator lead I have a good one.

Does this have a good battery positive connection on it? If so I'll have it if monkee doesn't if you don't mind.
