Xs Gearbox Rebuild

require a rebuild to an xs box, including the crownwheel dowelling or welding to the diff. any recommendations as to where i have it done. i'm notts/derby dont mind travelling up to 100 miles or so. thanks.

Thank you, Yes I can do them with too much hassle. Depending on box spec it could be worth changing a few little bit's but I;d go for a proper diff if possible as the sun and planet gears are weak and would fail long before the crownwheel would start slipping

as miles has said the planet gears go way before anything else on a rebuilt box......

 

i used to strip my (rebuilt) box down any time the box or engine was out to purely inspect the planet gears.

 

and when they go they take half the gearbox with it!
