Bbm Rear Grp N Rear Beam Mounts

Recommended Posts

Paul_13

As above really, i've asked the man himself but no reply.

Anybody know if they are still available?

I've been to local motorfactors and they have even stopped selling them in standard guise from several makes.

Not really after a set of Grp A mounts as ive had similar before and the road noise is dramatically increased.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

I emailed him nearly two weeks ago and still no reply, i bet he's either on holiday or really busy. Its happened before when i wanted other bits a few months ago.

I no doubt think he still has them no worries.

He'll get back to you like he did with me before now.

I dont think Stew has done these for quite some time as most tend to just fit the Solid kits, as mentioned just give him a call as he is very busy.

He doesn't do them any more as most people fit grp a. I spoke to him a while ago.

He's around as I spoke to him on Friday

The rubber ones in std form are still available from my factors and touch wood never had a issue getting them yet,

^ I'm struggling to find the website on google

Anybody help me out on that?

I had a pair of the constella rear mounts before and really didnt like them, a rear sandwich mount needs to retain the original geometries in my eyes and not something turned up in a lathe.

I could imagine the beam support arms bending and flexing over the side of the mount, the width and length are smaller than the O.E shape.

Do vibratechnics make rubber mounts? like their fancy engine mounts.

You mean this one? http://www.skipbrowncars.com/

Skip Brown are too old school for a proper website! The number is on the page - just ring them and if you get no reply, they'll be off supporting a rally.

The later style Group A mounts that Stew sells are solid replicas of the original sandwich mounts, and don't need the arms to be bent/twisted

I was aware of those Anthony, was trying to stick with rubber ones to cut down on road noise.

Anybody know the price of the above rear mounts by themselves? as I already have the front nylon ones.

Looks like i'll be going with the above.

You can cut down a lot of road noise by using the Second Skin stuff on the underside of the car.

HERE > Check out some of the U-tube videos of it, they coat a steel panel then drop it with the stuff on and off and it stops the ringing sound of steel being dropped. With using this stuff you can have the harder mounts which will mean you have better handling. You could even put it inside as well.
