Clutch Cable Fitment?

hiya, ive got a pug 205 gti 1.9(f reg) im hoping sumone on here knows or can have just have a look at the clucth cable on the (BE3)gearbox, and how it fits?

on the cable there is plastic block, and cant seem to see where it fits, i have just recently taken engine and box out to do alot of work to it, and come to put all back altogether and now im thinking ive missed a bracket, but ive searched my garage top to bottom so im not 100% :(

The block clips into the gearbox casting on the bulkhead side of the mount (if you get me!?)

As above there is a square in the casing with a slot in it for the plastic block to fit in to.

It is towards rear of the box,if you line the end part up with clutch arm it will become clear where the other part fits.

Just to check, it is definitely a BE3 gearbox that you've got, isn't it? An F reg car would have had a BE1 originally, and that *does* use a bracket to attach the clutch cable.

 

(BE3 is reverse below fifth, whereas BE1 is lift-up reverse next to first)

hhmmmm.... it looks different to that gearbox :( when i picked box up i was told it was a BE3, and not much knowledge about the types of gear boxs, i just taken the blokes word for it... really appreciate the help to all of you, :)

That is a BE3 gearbox.

 

The place where the cable clips in is underneath the battery tray, which is why you're having difficulty seeing it :)

yeah to the link anthony put on it is the same :( so now stuck because i hav no bracket, and cant find any on ebay, and around my area when i go to the breakers yards and ask for 205's they just laugh and say that i want parts in here and best on the net.

 

oh right haha

on the BE1 link you put on it looks same as mine, but im just missing the bracket for the block

That picture you uploaded is a BE3 gearbox - look at the clutch arm. BE1 clutch arm is completely different.

ohh yeah, :) thank you soooo much, happy again now ha, just the little things get to me, when you're trying to put it back together.....
