New Peugeot 205 Gti Book – Thanks For Your Help!

Recommended Posts

JonnyB

Hi,

Earlier this year I posted a wanted add for pictures of your cars to use in my new book, the 205 GTI Essential Buyers Guide.

I was pleasantly surprised by the response, and would just like to thank all those forum members involved, who helped make the book possible. In particular, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who provided pictures of their cars, and to those whose pictures were used in the book (I wish I could have used more):

Andrew Westrop

Carl Chambers

Dale Mills

Daniel Davies

David Sykes

Ed Cherry

Mick Lawton

Mark Dixon

Mark Rushton

Michael Cockbain

Mike Bullock

Rob King

Ross Obey

Stuart Farrimond

- thanks also to Miles for giving the book the once over,

- & Anthony and Cybernck for answering my many questions, and giving permission to use some of the information on the main site.

In addition, as I work for the publisher I have arranged for all forum members to be entitled to a 30 per cent discount on my book. All you need to do is quote the code 205DRIVERS30 (valid for 2 months) when placing an order with Veloce Publishing.

As an enthusiastic owner, and member of the forum, I never thought I would see my book published.

I hope you like it, and feel free to PM me any comments.

Many thanks,

Jon

PS. I am always looking for new authors, so if you think you have a book in you that needs writing (Peugeot or not) please get in touch.

As a token of his thanks, Jon has kindly donated a couple of copies of his new book for us to offer as a competition prize - details to follow in due course :)

I've had a quick flick through the book, and it's clear that this has been a real labour of love for Jon and that many, many hours of research and writing have gone into it to form what perhaps must be the ultimate 205 GTi buyers guide. Certainly a testiment to his enthusiasm and dedication that it was published and the result a real credit to you.

Clearly now the default answer for questions from perspective buyers won't be "do a search" but rather "read Jon's book"

(first time I've ever had a mention in a published book as well - I feel a warm fuzzy glow inside now )

I've had a look through this book and was pleased with the accuracy and the credit to 205gtidrivers and to Veloce for producing these well written guides.

EDIT: I've got the Alfa Guilia guide and Citroen DS one also.

Cheers Dave,

I've still got the engine mount if you want it.

How are you getting on with the MGB? Maybe now you will hang onto the 205 a little longer!
