my car has got a 1.9 d6b fitted at present but i have got hold of a DKZ 1.9

I am planning on rebuilding the DKZ and was wondering if i could use it to replace mine if i swapped all my bits over like manifolds flywheel and loom etc, basically just using the lump?

Also aprt from the management system the engines had is there any major difference between the D6B and DKZ?

Someone else will know the exact differences, but the DKZ is lower compression and with a milder cam.

If the DKZ is OK what I would do is chuck it in to keep you going and rebuild the D6B, then swap back.

thanks for the reply tom, my D6B is ok was just thinking of a rebuilt engine for many years of trouble free motoring.

like you say best to rebuild mine then.

As they get older originality will be more sought after, plus the fact there is no point rebuilding an engine to be less powerful than what you have.

should have looked on the main site before posting as the info on power etc is listed there.

D6B is 130bhp with 119lbft of torque compared to 122bhp and 111lbft on the DKZ.

another thought would the fuel injection off mine work on the DKZ engine if i swap round while i rebuild the D6B?
