Insurance Win

So last year i was driving my 306 which i wrote off in an accident that was totally my fault. I have since replaced it with a nice 309 GRD which has proved to be a very reliable daily runner but the insurace cost was a killer being £936 per year :o

Anyhoo my policy is up for renewal on 1st June so they sent my renewal papers through and because of the accident (£2650 claim cost) the price they quoted me was £2145 :o:o:o I did a bit of shopping around and found a fully comp price with the accident and my points declared for £700 :D:D:D

So, Adrian Flux, you can ram your extortionate prices up your frigging arse!

Well done, doing what you have managed helps keep insurance prices down by competition

I had the same thing with the AA this year. Total loss on my Golf daily drive last year, insurance was £690. When the renewal came through it had gone up to £1690. They only paid out £600 on the clam.

A bit of shopping around and managed to get it for £720, so up a little but I can live with that.

I've only used flux once, they insured my miami 1.6 gti for £900 which was very good seeing as I was 19 at the time, they don't seem to like 306 gti6's at any age though, got a quote this year and it was nearly double the price of admiral.

They do seem quite expensive, in a strange way though i have actually saved money by being with them. I've paid them around about £1800 in insurance over the past couple of years and now they have to pay out £2650 on my behalf so they're out of pocket on my policies :D

Who do you use for your modified car insurance?

flux are ridiculous. they wouldnt touch my mi16 as its 'too highly modified'

ive had quotes when it was a standard 1.6 and it was miles higher than anyone else.

i use footman james now, £253 quid fully comp with a 3k value. :D

I use need2insure, they are fab at persuading the insurance to give a high valuation and they can also insure any mod you may have. Not only can they do that but their prices are fab also.

My GT has only gone up about £10 this year with nothing changed except general insurance premiums going up due to the obvious reasons.

they have been getting more expensive of late, 100 more for the Mazda, and 50 more for the pug..

But still match anyone else when i renew, i've been with them for 7 years, currently have two cars with them, and have had a fairly tricky situation (not entirely of my making) that they handled quite professionally.

so i stick with them because i know when the s*it hits the fan they did the right thing, those quotes however are fairly horrendous.. it was screwloose that understood the statistical matrix they use, once the matrix is full up of quotes and policies, the prices rocket. So the time of the month you call is a factor that can't be predicted or controlled. Random and unfair.. but it seems common place.

HIC (Flux in disguise) quoted me £590 or there abouts, Footman James quoted me £430 with other bits an pieces thrown in.

Quick call to HIC and they did the whole lot for £420!

Footman James all the way. I'm £340 for my 1993 1.9 GTI. Agreed value £4000. Adrian Flux were £600 no agreed value.

I didn't realise HIC was flux, we have the 205 insured with them and have done for years, don't mind mods and well priced on the limited milege.
