405 Gearbox

My differential broke and destroyed the gearbox casing. What gearboxes can I use for replacement? 206? 306? 406? Xantia? or some other? I ask because it's hard to find a good 405 gearbox right now. Gearbox is BE3 and engine is 1.9l 88kw

I'm sorry for my bad English, but still are all the BE3 gearboxes the same?

in terms of fitting XU and XUD engine blocks yes, some have a different mounting though they are interchangeable, also some will have different attachments to the gear linkages and different shape levers.

 

most 206's use a TU engine with an MA gearbox, or an EW engine and BE4 gearbox, this will not work, there are DW's used which as far as I know will work, though no guarantees!

 

gear ratios and final drives vary massively as well.

Last question, will a XM BE3 gearbox fit? Also how would the ratios be, should I replace the gears?
