Sorry i have had to post about this but im currently using the internet on my fone and for sum reason it wont let me search. Right im going to get a vtr engine this week end can i run it on my 205 1.4 gearbox and carb or is that a silly statement? Or what carb can i run it on or is it better to go fuel injected thanks scott

Can be done, I think the stud pattern is different on the inlet and you need to block the injected holes (leave them in, disconnected!?) gearbox from the xs will fit also.

if the xs box is the same as a ax gt box it wont fit as bolt holes are different on a iron block

IIRC you have to swap over the bell housing  Could you not use your xs head? teh there will be no issues with making it fit. be aware that the vtr is iron block, and xs alloy block. so there is a fair amount of weight going in there.

I was planning on doing a vtr bottom end, xs head and box with a weber dgv carb and then decided mi16 was the way to go! and then changed my mind again to gti6
