Fitting 306 Rear Brakes?

Recommended Posts

rallysteve

I have got a pair of 205 rear calipers, but they seem a bit crusty, seeing as im going for big front brakes, upgrading the rears would be nice, although I just want an easy swap. I have noticed that 306 discs are cheaper for starters despite both being 247 x 8mm, are they interchangable?

Would I be able to fit 306 rear calipers straight on from any model (abs/non abs)? if they are the same size then do the 205 handbrake cables fit straight on?

Cheers Steve

The disks for the 306/xsara are a different offset but the calipers bolt straight on. So get some new 205 disks and use the 306 calipers, the 205 pads and cables etc fit np.

Pugs in Pieces

i think all 306s and xsaras have the same size, certainly xsi, s16 and vts/gti 6 are the same size

there are two piston sizes used, most have the 32mm ones, 205 used 30mm.
