Problems Retrofitting Ph2 Rear Lights

Recommended Posts

RickyD

Good Morning All,

I've tried retrofit some Phase 2 Rear Light Clusters and I've failed to get all the lights operational.

The harness is a plug and plug kit which was supplied with the rear lights clusters. The problem lights are the number plates lights and offside indicator. All the others work fine on the Phase 1 set up.

I've checked all the connections and tried working bulbs from the Phase 1 set up.

There must be a loose connection somewhere, however it has me puzzled as the Phase 1 lights are still working.

I've gone throught the guide on the main website and everything seems to be the same.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I've also managed to crack one of my Phase 1, offside rear lenses. Last night was an unsuccessful one and I was really dissapointed.

Many Thanks

Good Morning All,

I had another go of fitting the Phase 2 lights this morning as I'm now off until 31st May and flying out to Florida this afternoon for two weeks.

Anyway, I've now managed to get the offside indicator operational as the wire loom that was made up had a faulty connection.

Next was the number plate lights. The reason these didn't work the first time was because I hadn't connected them. I didn't realise that the connedtor on the Phase 1 clusters is on the opposite side to the Phase 2's.

I will therefore re-route the wiring when I get back, so fingers crossed.

I will them be in the market for a usedd reversing light once they are all working.

Cheers

Have you added the extra loom for the reversing light?

You don't have to have a reversing light so unless you really need it you could just leave the blank in place instead.

Graham.

Graham,

I haven't added a reversing light yet. I probably will though, just to keep things right.

Cheers

Result, I now have the Phase 2 lights all fully operational. I just need to add the reverse light of which I received one today.

The transformation from Ph1 to Ph2 is fantasic and I'm really pleased with them. After three months of ownership my car is shaping up well. I will add some pics when I get a chance as I have over 400 pics from our holiday in Florida to sort through.

Next on the list of jobs is to replace the rusty driving lights.

Cheers
