Speedo Drive Pin Out

Anyone know the pin out for the three pin electric speedo drive as found in combination with a cable output on some 306's 106's etc ?

I want to know which one provides the pulse for the speedo.

On the three pin VSS according to autodata pin 3 sends the signal to the ecu with pin 1 being swicth 12v fromt he double replay & pin 2 earth.

Any idea whether pin one is nearest the bulkhead ?

Not sure if the ecu pin number would be correct for what your doing as you didnt go into much detail.

Thanks, that's great. I will use pin 3 to drive a tripmeter via am electronic signal convertor.
