Tb's Air Filter 90Mm Trumpets On Mi16

Recommended Posts

Ive got jenvey TB's on my mi16 and I need to get an air filter fitted. Pipercross state that there should be a minimum of 19mm clearance between the trumpet and the inner face of the filter, but by my measurements there is no hope of fitting a filter that big under the bonnet!

I think the best I could is the one with a internal height of 100mm, leaving only 10mm clearance from filter to trumpet.

Would this be ok? Also would this (sausage) filter reduce the bhp alot?

Hope my pictures help. Can't remember what size is that pipercross but it's the only size that can fit under the bonnet.

Yes ideally you'd need to use a stepped backplate like enginekiller's pic above. The filter will sap a little power, but if it's clean and mounted well it won't be alot.
