Clear Headlights?

Recommended Posts

JoniGTI

Hello!

On my GTI I have angel-eyes headlights, and I want to change the headlights to the original ones,

But the problem is that with the original headlights I feel like I have candles insted of light bulbs in there.

So I want to preserve original looks and good illuminating, then I saw this:

Is it any good? looks original?

Any other options?

Thanks!

Jon

those arent headlights, they are driving lights which are mounted below the front bumper, Im assuming you know that?

They arent the original spec, the originals are Bosch/SIEM ones and apparently the Denji ones have issues with longevity/rust, but I havent tried them myself, I stumped up for the original ones, which are rather expensive

I've had Denji ones for 7 years now and i've just had to repaint the frames on them due to a bit of rust. Admittedly mines a summer car thats not driven in the rain much so that probably helps. :P

to be honest, the bosch ones still rust, mine were on only 10 months and the frames were starting to look a little tatty upon close inspection. Think I will respray them with a decent primer and paint before refitting next time

I used abit of Loctite Rustcure on mine, then a flashing of Acid Etch Primer, followed by Black topcoat. I dunno how long they will last as the metal is s*ite to be honest!

Hi,i have changed mine for some Denji ones and the surround which usually rusts is now made of plastic instead of metal!

This should make em last alot longer ;)

Of course , I made a-bit off a mess, thought they were headlights and not driving lights, sorry!

Anything to do with the headlights?

Driving in the night with the original headlights is really bad!

Maybe taking the angel-eyes lense and fitting it to the original one to make it clear?

I really don't like the angel eyes.

just buy new headlamps, new bulbs, and ensure the wiring and earth points are good.

I never thought 205 lights were particularly poor
