Dash Lights

Recommended Posts

The dash lights on my currently off the road CTI now don't work for some reason but the centre dash lights - hazard & fog light etc do (it's a phase 1 CTI).

I have taken the clocks out and nothing appears loose to cause the lack of light - any ideas please? The low petrol warning light does not work but the indicators and all other warning lights on the dash do.

Thanks

Do you mean the dial illumination when the headlights are on isn't working?

If so, check the dimmer on the underside of the steering column - if that's broken or disconnected then you'll have no dash cluster or heater dials illumination.

As Anthony said, but it you unplug the dimmer switch and bridge both the wires the dash lights should come on with the headlights. If they dont then check the feeds to the dimmer switch.

Thanks - I'll check that.

It seems funny that the low fuel indicator light is not working too though?

Can of petrol and a match anyone?

i seem to have this problem also, also on a phase 1 cti, removed the dash assy to replace and its not been the same since. changed the dimmer but still have no dash lights or fuel or oil pressure gauge.

i think mine has something to do with the old alarm circuitry

The fuses were fine but were not quite making contact with the fuse board - now sorted, thanks

My cj has the same problem, no dial illumination, could it simply be fuses?
