I was wondering that? 20 grand spent and yet loads to do??

Thats very true.. I have spent what at time seems like a stupid ammount on my 205, and its still *only* (lol) cost around what a 205 would have cost new in 1991, and thats including 2 resprays because I crashed it!

I had a 1.6 gti and got rid of it when I was 22 a few months after my little girl was born because the heater didn't work and we had to swaddle her in blankets every time we went out.

I decided to do the grown up thing and got a newish Vectra and get rid of the 205 - this was 9 years ago. We had another baby 2½ years ago and 6 months after he was born my wife decided to get me another GTI (1.9 this time) for my 30th birthday.

I don't know how I lived with the Vectra and wouldn't dream of getting another "family" car any time in the near future. The kids fit perfectly in the 205 and my little boy loves it. I went back to driving the Vectra once (I gave it to a cousin) and made the mistake of joining the A3 thinking I was still in the 205 - I put my foot down and not much happened.

I'll leave the growing up for grown ups.
