Ride Height

Hi all,

 

I just bought my first 205 gti and i'm loving it,i have read a few posts about ride height and how standard is best,

just wanted to know what the standard ride height should be and where you measure it from?

did mine before xmas and made a dummy shock out of steel plate to a size of 322mm bolt hole to bolt hole,basically it goes where shocker fits then torsion bar is put back in then same for other side.

 

the haines said 330.5mm but it looked too high so jord924 suggested 322mm and it looks perfect now.

As far as I recall you measure from the centre of the wheel to the bottom edge of the wheelarch. Someone correct me if I am wrong though!

 

Front ride hight is not as adjustable as back of course, if it's on original springs, it'll be more or less correct. It shoud be quite obvious if it's been lowered at the front.

Cheers for the help guys, looks like its been lowered at the rear and not the front, thinking about dropping it 30mm or so.
