Gti6 Conversion Coolant Hoses

How have people gotten around this one? The '6 block has a larger outlet to this piece which in turn only has 2 outlets. On the mi16 swap i just used the 8v piece with 2 smaller and the one larger outlet but this wont fit. How can I get around it?

If you're trying to plumb it in as-per an 8v setup, you need to use either a 306 S16 or (I believe) 306 TD lower distribution block.

When I did mine I left the std water hose on the back of the block, used one of Stew's ( BBM ) t hoses. The lower rad hose that goes to the std gti6 water manifold, was bigger dia the manifold itself, so Stew supplied me with a smaller dia hose that fitted a treat :)

safest bet with that quite large manifold is to use the gti6 distribution block and retain the metal pipe, I think that's how BBM's pipes are meant to be used anyway, though I've yet to install a gti6 into a 205 myself, only my ZX which was far easier!

I initially used the s16 water distribution block. Problem was blanking off the unused outlets. I agree with Welshpug about being close to the fanimold. I just swapped to the GTi6 setup with metal pipe. Like Mark I used the t piece setup from BBM and it works a treat.

Also like Mark, I found the lower rad to water distribution block to be too large. Unlike Mark I bodged it with some silicone tape and a jubilee clip! So far so good!

I used the BBM gti6 conversion hose kit and retained the gti6 distribution block and metal hose to the thermostat too - very neat. It also solves the problem of the thermostat housing by using an adaptor plate.

Only problem I've had with the kit is the upper radiator hose is a little too short to fit under the gti6 throttle body propoerly but a quick cut and shut with a length of solid tube has fixed that.

Thanks for the replies folks. Being short of time needing the the car going ASAP and everywhere being shut for a million bank holidays, I managed to join the 2 hoses (heater matrix return and expansion tank filler) that usually meet that outlet on the 8v block and instead join them to the single outlet on the VTS using some good solid pipe that won't melt on the manifold and is fixed out of its way. I'll just bug up the extra outlet on the thermostat housing.
