Hi all,

After a long time away from the idea of putting carbs on my 1.9 and deciding not too, i am back again with the idea in my head!! :D Im just after the pro's and cons, all be it the pro's are pretty obvious! Is it worth the

money £900+ plus fitting etc!! Is second hand the way forward? Help!! I know i have a solid engine as its been rebuilt and had a once over from Skip Brown. Any info would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Chris

Hi Brumster, the engine is standard although kicking out 140hp@ flywheel, im guessing due to the head being re-skimmed when engine was rebuilt??

Pugs in Pieces

it depends what you want from the engine, the sound of 40/45s is great, they give good gains when setup right, obviously the fuel economy drops though. you can pick them up for 200 ish quid, sevice kits are about 50 quid and fairly straight forward to strip and rebuild. if you want a noisy induction roar then they are ideal.
