Gti 6 Camshaft

Hi,

 

 

I am going to running Jenvey throttle bodies on my gti6 engine which is going to ran in the tintop series occasionally as well as blast on the road. I am just wondering what camshaft people recommend and best suit Jenvey throttle bodies and aftermarket Omex system.

Obvious question is what spec the rest of the engine is, and assuming it's largely standard, are you willing to do something regarding the piston valve cutouts?

 

There's little in the way of valve-piston clearance on a GTi-6 engine as standard to run particularly agressive cams.

yeah rest of engine is standard except for lighten flywheel and ally pulley along with balanced crank. I know theres clearance issues hopefully to keep cost down avoid heavy head work.

A Pair of Re-grinds is about the only safe way to go, even Entry level blank grinds can be iffy unless doing a dry build you never know until it's too late.

The most important thing here is to keep the lift @ TDC figure <0.065".
