More Mi16 Woes

we are still plugging away at this pig of an Mi16 conversion!

we have got the car to start and run, but there are a few serious problems....and to make matters worse we are booked in for an mot...TOMORROW!

the car starts and runs, the battery is pretty weak, but we guess this is from standing for a while and not much charging from lack of driving

the car is fine (and fast!) on full throttle and with more than 3k of revs. it struggles to idle

1) the car will idle when you start it, but then the revs drop and drop (the mixture is too rich here as we are getting pops and bangs out the back) until it will only cut out no matter how much throttle you give it.

2) we are jump starting the car while the battery recharges, but the car will not run if you disconnect the battery as you would normally expect?! have we had a shocker on the alternator wiring?

tomorrow morning we are checking the resistance acorss the blue temp sensor on the thermostat (is this correct) and then going leaner with the mixtre screw on the afm (good/bad idea?)

aside from this can you think of anything we have missed? we are at a whits end at the moment with this car so anything that could help us is worth saying!

thanks (and sorry for leaching off the forum so far!)

cheers,

Matt
