Would Anybody Be Interested In These?

Was bored and in an experimental mood over the weekend.

However, the internet was down so I designed and made this:

Quite boring and involved, but basically you take some wood and make a pattern:

Take some sand and make some molds:

Take some liquid metal and make a little inlet manifold :D

Obviously needs some machining and the like to finish, but just thought I'd gauge interest :)

so how are the bodies mounted? solid or siliconge bodged?

any chance of a decent tract length with a nice curve to place the bodies pointing at the space abopve a dropped rad, rather than the bonnet?

Silicone isn't bodged.

Looks real nice, good for a weekends work of playing!

It's far from ideal. The flexibility of a silicone hose causes some of the pulse effect in the inlet to be dampened and lost.

im not saying use a metre length piece of silicone to mount the bodies.

Bikes run fine, as do bike engines in cars. Theres much bigger compromises than not solidly mounting the throttle bodies.

Not if the body and the manifold butt up togeather.

There isn't a problem with using the standard motorbike silicon joiners, I think Welshpug means using longer lengths of standard silicone hose and jubilee clips.

yup :)

going to that extent to cast them, adding some flanges to mount bodies solidly wouldn't be much more work would it?

It's quite a lot more work to get the casting to go round a corner than it is to put a silicone elbow on that's for sure.

Tis an interesting point about the silicone dulling pulses, presumably if the bit of silicone between the manifold and the throttle was quite short, and you extended to your trumpets with a length of ali tube, you'd not lose too much pulse strength?

Guess the thing to do with these is machine them up and stick 'em on ebay :)
