A bit of a basic question here, but if you dont ask you dont know.

When a wire goes into a multiplug such as the infamous brown multiplug are the wires held for life or is there a certain knack to releasing them?

they can be removed there will be a little tag on the crimp that holds it in the plastic plug, some are easier than others to unclip so wire can be pulled out.

Is it a needle nose pliers job or more of a hooked tool?

Pugs in Pieces

if my memory serves me correctly you can use a small screwdriver on the side where the terminal is (not the side where the wires come out), there is a small tab/tag that needs to be pushed to one side and then pulled out from the cable side. the terminal stays on the cable and pulls thro. hope that makes sense.

ta welshpug, very useful as always. Funnily I worked this out when i was tinkering today.

I still dont know for certain how the wires are connected to the terminals. I guess that the terminals are provided with the plug and a simple crimp attaches the wire to them?

Where can you buy these types of plugs from? I tried Halfords and Maplins yesterday and they both drew a blank.

Im redoing the starter wiring and i only need to change one pin, is it possible just to buy the terminal that sits in the plug? If so where should i be looking?

Afaik the terminals are available from peugeot only, a few people on here have managed to get them before (Anthony & Spikey iirc).

Can't help with the numbers atm but will have a look.

Graham.

I have been searching for these for ages, after trawling through hundereds of different terminals from RS etc I could only find one possible match but wasnt willing to pay the large cost of buying 1000 of them. Might I suggest you replace the whole connector block with either fixed connections or if you want to be able to unplug, buy a complete connector from Vehicle wiring products or similar.

Cheers Steve
