Don't You Just Love It When You Feel You've Done A Good Job?

Recommended Posts

Well yesterday, I replaced all my front brakes and I just feel like I've achieved something good. :) I decided to go for some 266mm brakes and I managed to find some decent calipers on a Citroen Berlingo at the scrappy, got some copper brake pipe and discs and pads from my local motor factor and away I went.

Well, anyway, here are the results;

I just think I did a really tidy job and am quite proud of myself, so I'll share my work with you guys and gals. :D

Also now means I have some good 1.9 calipers, discs and pads for sale. ;)

Very nice, although you may as well just hack off those pad sensor wires!

For some reason they were on all 4 pads.... So I've already hacked off 2 wires! GTi's are meant to have the brake pads low warning thingy, but I don't know where my connectors have gone! :blink: (Hence why I have left 2 on!)

do these brakes fit under the 14" 1.6 'pepper pot' wheels?

You have "nearly" done a good job, but not quite.

My pet hate is missing screws that hold the brake disc on, meaning you struggle to get the wheel and holes all lined up.

Its a 5 min job with a drill and an M6 tap to sort it.

Get to it!

I don't think they do. Iirc, you struggle to fit 1.9 calipers under the 14" wheels.

It was the biggest faff to put my wheels back on... All 4 grub screw holes had a broken screw still stuck in them! It annoys me too and I will be drilling them out at some point, so don't worry!! :D

They do fit under 14" pepper pots, however the wheel balancing weights catch on the caliper. That was the case on my xs but I have no issues with the 106 rallye wheels and these brakes.

Cheers
