Gti6 - Loom Under Expansion Bottle.

Do you go through the left hole with the bonnet release or the right with the main car loom?

 

In either case, I guess there is an off the shelf replacement grommit?

I would go left hole with bonnet release. The exhaust mani gets hot and is close to the loom if you run it through the original loom hole. I have done this and had to take extra precautions in protecting the loom from the heat.

I have drilled a hole on the bulkhead then used a file to enlarge it enough so the original grommet fits in underneath the expansion tank, for the above reason.

 

Im not sure if water/engine smell could get inside the cabin using the holes already on that side of the bulkhead, which is why i've used the original grommet.
