austingm 0 Posted April 20, 2011 I have a leak in my breaks. (205 GTI 1.6 1992) I have pinned it down to what I think is the break compensator. It is a cylindrical thing with two break lines going into it and is located on the left hand side of the engine bay. Since I am retoring I went to the local agents for a Peugeot Part however they told me that it is out of production. Any idea if my description points towards a break compensator and if so where would you suggest getting a good replacement from. (tried searching but it does not seem to be working)
welshpug 1,646 Posted April 20, 2011 I don't think there are any sources of the 1.6 brake pressure limiters/compensators any longer apart from used units, however I'd imagine its quite unusual for then unit itself to be leaking, more likely to be damaged pipework. Its spelt BRAKE by the way

BERTMAN 40 1 Cars Posted April 21, 2011 it looks like it would, except i don't think autofive are of any use anymore... not sure if they are still in business.
austingm 0 Posted November 7, 2011 leak is getting worse. Anyone have a used one in good condition they are willing to ship to Malta? If not, is there any aftermarket type I can fit?
allye 530 3 Cars Posted November 7, 2011 compenstaors can fail, I had a 2nd hand one that did so I just run without one and the fronts still lock up before the rears so you could do that if you can't find one.
