Gear Linkages

Hey guys,

I was driving around the other day when my gear stick went all lose, I have checked the gear linkages and found that my exhaust has been knocking against this rod and snapped it in half. I have been looking around online and been to a few places but nothing I have found seems to be the right part of it. I have taken a picture of it i am just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

cheers

You can get them off of Miles's ebay store at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PugRacing-GearRodShop/Peugeot-Citroen-Gear-Rods-/_i.html?_fsub=3&_sid=42194395&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 - the uprated ones are good as they have clips that hold them in place and stop them popping off.

If you are using standard engine and exhaust they should be fine, if not you might have to bend them a but :)

Hey thanks for that, I have been looking on there over the last couple of days and seen them its just that none of them look like the standard rod because they dont have a ball join to the subframe to pivot on. Thats the only thing i am worried about.

You will need to buy that part from Pug or source a replacement from another 205 I'm afraid - It may be TU specific, I'm not sure, certainly looks a lot like the one in my gti.

Someone on here may well have one, they're certainly not notorious for snapping, I'm pretty impressed that you managed to snap that one - it's very unusual. Try a post in the wanted section, or look for someone breaking a car.

You're correct that it's not supplied as an uprated item as part of the uprated gear rods assembly, because they're isn't really an obvious way to improve it!

As well as replacing it are you going to sort the exhaust problem? Sound as though one of the hangers is missing or maybe bent somewhere?

Never seen one go like that! Corrosion will have something to do with as well surely.

Yeah I am going to take a walk over to my local pug dealer tomorrow.

I have now removed the exhaust and I don't intend putting it back on was missing a mount on it, oh well it was blowing like mad anyway :)

The car is running very very lumpy idle needs sorting really, would not be surprised if that has got someone thing to do with a missing rubber hanger.
