What Ratio Is A 70X19 Diff Wheel?

Recommended Posts

stebbs

I'm trying to change my 1.9gti diff for something longer and a friend has given me a box with a 70x19 crown wheel/diff. The box has several stamps on. Be3, 4fg-1, 20td95, 1545035 cheers

70 divided by 19 (70/19) equals 3.68:1

well unless i'm mistaken you just divide 70/19 and thats the ratio, which my caluclator comes out with 3.68. The 3.68 is the standard 1.9 final drive anyway so what were you looking to do ith it as bear in mind that it is not simply a case of swapping the diff. If it is different to the one already installed you will need to change the pinion as well, and that is a whole different ball game.

A diesel gearset is an mi with a longer final drive ratio.

Henry Yorke has a similar gearset in his cti turbo, he has the 405 SRi gearbox with a 1.9 fd which gives a slightly different 1st & 3rd.

Graham.
