Ecu Temp Sensor Testing

Can anyone tell me how to test the ECU temp sensor? I think mine is faulty as i am over fueling

Please take this the right way, but you are bombarding us with questions at the moment as you are keen to learn, but all the answers are out there on the forum already, everything you are struggling with is nothing new and has been discussed before.

 

So please try to make use of the search function a bit to help you find the info you need.

 

To test the sensor you really need to take it out, test the resistance at room temp, then dip it in boiling water and check resistance again. I can't tell you the values off the top of my head, but they are out there on this forum for you.

If memory serves me correctly

 

2500 ohms at 20 degrees

250 ohms at 90 degrees

 

Personally though if you go to trouble of removing it you may as well spend the £15-20 just changing it.
