Nut For Oil Temp Sensor

I recently bought a oil temp sensor from pug. All hunky dory, as you might think, but I can't bloody find out what size the nut is, so can't fit the wire to it!!!

 

It's very frustrating, as I'm sure you can imagine.

 

So, does anybody know

 

-what the size is

 

and

 

-where I can get one?

 

I measured it with a thread measuring thingy, and it came up as 0.7 - which seems to be m4x0.7? Is this right?

4x0.7mm is right. That's the standard thread for a 4mm nut, so you should be able to get one pretty much anywhere - B&Q, Focus, Wilkinsons, motor factors, etc

Hmmm my local bolt merchant was stumped by it - may have to venture into B&Q as you suggest!

You can use the little screw on cap from the top of a spark plug as it's the same thread

If you struggle to get a nut pm me your addy and I will post some,we use them at work so got loads of them.

 

Bit tight of pug not to put one on new sensor though.
