swapping over a 1.6 for a 1.9 engine,is it worth it or is it a lot of hassle

been offered one with a be3 gearbox at a good price.

You will need the ecu and afm as well

If you do, keep the 1.6 box

 

Personally I wouldn't bother, for the hassle I'd rather keep the revvier 1.6.

 

If it's more power your after 167 bhp would cost about 750-800. Gti6 engines are quite numerous at the moment

The 1.6 box makes the car accelerate quicker than the 1.9 box but can be more noisy at higher motorway speeds.

If the 1.6 is healthy leave it be.

 

As Pete said, if you want more power the '6 is the way to go.
