Is My 1.6 105Bhp Or 115Bhp?

hey im new and hav a 1.6 gti 205, ive seen people say thay hav the 115bhp vertion of a 205? is there to different ones? and how wud i no wich one i hav? my 205 is a g reg?

On a G it would have 115bhp.

 

On a side note please check what section you are posting in also please don't use Tex speak.

You'll not find many 105bhp GTi's around tbh. Check the wee plate on the engine left of the inlet manifold. The 105bhp will have the code B6A and the 115bhp will have the code B6D

I think the most obvious difference is if there is a pipe coming off the rockercover next to the cam belt IIRC. :) it's an oil breather/sump return pipe which the early 105bhp cars didn't have.

As said, you'll be lucky to find one with a 105bhp engine, if you have a breather pipe on the cam cover & another from the oil cap to the throttle body then, unless someone has fitted a later breather system, rocker cover & throttle body, you have a 115bhp B6D (or late B6E).

 

The 105bhp will have the code B6A

No it won't, the 105bhp engine code is 180A.

What is a B6A then?

No idea, never seen that engine code used & its not listed in autodata.

 

Closest one to idt is B1A which is a 75bhp 1.6 engine but I don't know if they were fitted to uk 205's.
