Ditributor Cap Position

Guys, Sorry thick question. just rebuildign my standard 1.9 . I assumed the distributor cap woudl only fit one way...but it doesn't ......to save me getting it 180 degree out. Which way round is the cap as standard ?

 

do all the HT leads point down so you can't really see them..or up towards the bonnet. to be fair it looks a bit odd with them pointing upwards ?

 

I should have paid more attention when dismantling.
