Thermostat Housing Differences?

No idea, never seen on like that before but it looks to have been modified to supply an extra water outlet for something before the thermostat opens.

Yep, that's not normal, the SAD usually mounts there.

There's one on servicebox that looks like that, with a gasket and a cover plate to block it off. No idea what model it's from though.

Yeah, its not been modified, Its shown on servicebox as Ryan says. Although, its alot clearer on Citroen service listed for the 1.9 BX 8v GTI up to a certain RP number. Regardless of which model it always appears with the gasket and blanking plate though, which is odd, seems never to have had any use.

Yep, that's not normal, the SAD usually mounts there.

The SAD usually mounts to the CTS housing on that age of thermostat housing not on the two studs doesn't it & I doubt the SAD wouldn't cover the hole shown in the lower one.

 

Now I've seen the pic in service box, it shows another plate with gasket fitting over that hole but only listed as Injection & XU.

 

Still, I don't ever remember seeing on on any of the xu engine's I've worked on.
