4000Rpm!

Hey all!

 

If anyone could help me i'd be very grateful.....

 

My 1600 gti (1992) has been off the road for 18mths and i got a few issues to sort out before i make it road legal again.

 

It starts up fine but will only accelarate up to just past 4000rpm. The needle stops and It wont rev any higher, in any gear.

It drives pefectly normal in every other way my first thought was it could be a problem with the ECU?

 

Ive owned the car over 5yrs ive never encountered this problem before .

And sadly im no mechanic either .
