Pulling On Hard Acceleration

Recommended Posts

rallyeash

Hello, ive just got my 205 back on the road and tonight i done a few test runs ahead of the trackday on friday.

Ive just done the tracking and set it to 0. Pulls lovely and straight on part throttle but under load say powering through second etc it wants to violently pull left which certainly isnt nice!

Its the first time ive really driven it since its rebuild. Running 309 running gear, 205 1.9 beam gaz coilovers. Any ideas?

Dead wishbone bushes is the obvious one to check, especially if it tries to pull the other way when you lift off the throttle.

got the left one out, looks as if one of the bushes has seen better days...

bit anoying really as although they are probably 2 years old only would of covered 2000 miles. spose what you get the motor factor parts.

If the balljoint is OK, just buy a genuine Peugeot wishbone bush kit and replace the bushes.

Pattern wishbones typically have rubbish bushes in them, and failure far more premature than 2000 miles isn't unheard of by any means.

ill look into it, if its not somthing which is stocked anymore i'll have to get a complete wishbone as ive got a trackday at combe on friday so needs fitting tomorrow afterwork.

there isnt that much play in the bush itself, just seems to be missing abit of rubber on the end?

fingers crossed this will sort it, seems alot of pulling for a bush which doesnt have that much play

Ovaled hubs, play in wheel bearings due to untightened drive shaft nuts and dead wishbone bushes. These are what I've come across on my car with the same kind of behaviour.

i've got the same with mine but pulls to the right. was fine with cheapo tyres but as soon as i stuck yokos on the steering was all over the place with hard acceleration. really scary if i'm honest :(
