What Other Gearbox Can I Use On An Xs?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but, I am in need of a new gearbox soon as possible and xs ones seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo and hens teeth sandwiches!

so what else can i use on a tu3s?

annoyingly, ive got a be4r box but not got the time or money to do the conversion

 

the only ones that seem t be readily available are 106 deisel boxes, and im not even sure if they would fit?

what other boxes might/do fit? and where can i get one?

Any TU engined car. Other 205's, 106's, saxos. Theres loads about!

To answer your question - Yes diesel boxes do fit but the ratios are tosh! I currently have one on my xs and it seems rather long legged. Good on the motorway, but spoils it on the B roads where the xs comes into life! I also have a 1.4mpi 205 and its gearbox seems much more lively, planning on swapping the boxes over at some point. I used to have a 1.1 box from an AX on the xs and it wasn't far off from the xs box in my opinion.

cheers guys, I've pretty much decided to do a BE4 conversion now tho as i have a spare one lying around but i shall bare the above info in mind if i fail miserably with this box!
