Where To Source New Shocks ?

Recommended Posts

Technik21

I'm thinking of renewing my shocks\springs and engine mounts on my 1.9 Gti (93), and wondered if GSF or Kevin Cooper parts were good enough?

I contacted Peugeot today, and they quoted me £224 plus vat for one front shock !!! Gave me a shock anyway!

So needles to say, I won't be buying those.

I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest either.

I need O/E spec, so any preferences for where to buy these parts would be appreciated.

I was looking at Bilstein kits, but again I only want road use specs.

Also, not sure how critical replacing the springs are (145,000 miles). Do they wear as such? As the shocks are going to be replaced, just thought I should replace the springs too.

Easy, Rears buy from Peugeot as they are fairly priced, ask for some 306 GTi6 rear K6 dampers but I think it's been revised again, Fronts can be the normal OE spec Bilstein's which where know as B4's but have now just changed to a number which I can supply or even the rears if needed
