i am not a very experienced engineer but have a goon mechanical mind and i need my cam belt doing is it a goon idea to have ago myself there any special tools i need to use and if any one has a guide to doing it it would b help full

 

rear engine mount has gone is it worth changing it for a BM uprated 1 even if everything g else is standard

get a haynes and the cambelt is covered in that.

i would repace with standard mount unless its a track car.

You need a press to change the mounts. Reference the cambelt, if you have never done it before it can be fairly hard, espeically when its in the car! Getting the belt at the correct tension isn't easy either. However if you follow the old haynes you should be ok if you have a half decent tool kit.
