Recommended Posts

m_attt

have a problem with my ciggy lighter socket, as would like to plug satnav in, but have no power to the socket. When hold multimeter to the wires the leads get very very hot in seconds. cant see any blown fuses.

any ideas on what or where to check.

If the multimeter leads are getting hot, you've not got it set on amp mode have you? It shouldn't draw any current on DC voltage mode like you should be using to check.

bent the metal contacts in more, and sanded the inside and cleaned it up, then sprayed with wd40 :)
